I purchased this book a while ago, as I it wasn’t available for my Kindle, and it’s been sitting in a shelf alone pleading with me to read. Well, I finally pulled the book out a few days ago, as I was bookless for my Kindle, and I said hi, it’s time for us to get acquainted. It was actually a nice change for me to hold a book and read it and use a bookmark so I wouldn’t lose my place. I have another physical book coming in a few days about minor league baseball.
Harvey Araton is a sportswriter for the New York Times, and he as has written several other books (of which, I have read one of them – Our Last Season). His wife was one of the soccer moms.
I got to meet a lot of moms, mostly from the Montclair, NJ, who decided to play soccer. I enjoyed the stories of all of them, and even how this got started. The moms involved come from various backgrounds and ages and the range of athleticism goes from what is a soccer ball to I played in high school and college!
