Sometimes, I read a book where I know nothing of the author, and the description appeals to me. I am very glad that Amazon allows free samples of books and I do take full advantage of that. If I like the book, I buy it. If not, hey, I tried, and it wasn’t for me; I can usually tell after a few pages on a yes or no.
This book was a quick yes, as I really enjoyed reading about how she got started as a chef and all the restaurants and countries she worked in. I say countries, because one of her head chef jobs was at the world’s fair in Vancouver in 1986 and Australia in 1988. She was also one of the chefs at the world’s fair in New Orleans in 1984.
She has cooked in Hawaii, Portland, New Orleans, and Destin, FL; just to name a few places. I also enjoyed reading about her travel adventures everywhere she cooked.
She never gave up being a chef in a predominantly profession full of men. Of course, she found love in a few chefs, and even got married and later divorced them.
