I have had this book on my Amazon Wishlist since May 23, 2023, and couldn’t wait for it to be published.
I knew of his life as Captain Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Professor X from the X-Men movies. I am not by any means a fan of Star Trek but have seen quite a few of the superhero movies.
But I had no clue about his background in theater and specifically Shakespeare. Even though I am not as experienced in Shakespeare, I did enjoy all of his stories.
I especially was interested in how he got the Star Trek and X-Men gig, and those were obviously mentioned. The movie Conspiracy Theory in which Patrick was a bad guy was directed by Richard Donner. His wife, Linda Donner, reached out to Patrick for the role of Professor X. For Star Trek, Patrick was in LA helping a friend with a lecture where he and a few other actors acted out some Shakespeare. Well, one of the people who attended was Robert Justman, one of the producers for the new Star Trek series.
He also told the stories of how he met his first three wives, and the reason he got divorced from the first two.
